Bernard is said to have been in business as early as 1790 with the earliest listing being 1823/1825 at 20 Bath St. The shop was destroyed in the blitz 1940 and the business reopened down the mall but this new premises was possibly destroyed by a V1 in 1944Vintage and used yet still in good condition. The shaft has only minor deviations from straight and only minor scuff marks from use. The handle, fittings, eyes and whipping are in good order. The bag is unbranded and in good condition.
