Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie

The most famous of Christie's many classic mysteries featuring the great Hercule Poirot. Originally published in 1934, with the first Pocketbook paperback printing in 1940 and copyright renewal in 1960. This is a circa 1980 51st printing pulp paperback.

New York: Pocket Books, 1976. Paperback. 1940 edition, 51st printing. Pulp paperback. Covers have moderate edge wear with some creasing, artwork and lettering still vibrant. There is a small (~0.2") perfect circle, like a hole punch, between the A & the g of Agatha on front cover. Original price of $2.50 on front cover. Spine is square. Binding is reasonably tight. Text block edges and inside title page have ex-library stamps. Pages are lightly toned with age. Otherwise pages are clean without markings.

While I've come to appreciate the special energy of a first edition hardcover, there is nothing like a paperback for getting lost in a story. I especially love the feel and cover art of these vintage pulp paperbacks. Let's all follow Stephen King's advice and carry a paperback around to read during down time instead of robotically pulling out our phones.
