How to use EPODEX Epoxy Resin?

1
Step 1: Prepare

Step 1: Prepare

  • The surface/mould should be dry, clean, and free of grease.
  • The temperature of the room, material, and substrate should not be too cold, as this will allow air bubbles to disappear on their own (ideal: 20°C).
  • The humidity in the air should not exceed 60% to avoid white marks.
2
Step 2: Prime

Step 2: Prime

  • For porous surfaces, apply a coat of primer to prevent material loss and the formation of air bubbles.
  • To do this, mix the resin and hardener, apply the mixture to the surface using a roller or brush, and then allow it to cure.
3
Step 3: Add Coloured Pigments

Step 3 (Optional): Add Coloured Pigments

  • Add the pigments before mixing.
  • Recommended pigment/dye amounts for 1 kg of resin + hardener: metallic, neon, pearlescent, and phosphorescent pigments: about 1.5% (15 g); transparent colours (except white, black, and grey): 20-60 drops (0.6-1.8 g); solid colours: 1% (10 g).
4
Step 4: Mix

Step 4: Mix

  • Mix the resin (A) with the hardener (B) in a 2:1 weight ratio (e.g., 2 kg of resin : 1 kg of hardener).
  • Move the mixing stick along the sides and bottom of the container to ensure all material is mixed, as unmixed material can settle there.
  • Pour the mixture into a clean container and mix again to ensure the material will cure properly.
5
Step 5: Pour

Step 5: Pour

  • Pour the material immediately after mixing, as it may begin to heat up in the mixing container.
  • Maximum pour height for each product: Option A (PRO) – 2 cm; Option B (PRO+) – 5 cm; Option C (PRO MAX) – 10 cm.
  • When pouring close to the maximum pouring height, we recommend keeping the temperature between 17-20°C.
6
Step 6: Let Cure

Step 6: Let Cure

  • The material is mechanically cured—walkable, touch-dry, and ready for demoulding at 20°C—after 20 hours (PRO), 48 to 72 hours (PRO+), and 72-96 hours (PRO MAX).
  • Full chemical curing is achieved after approximately 7 days (PRO) and 14 days (PRO+ and PRO MAX). During this period, the epoxy resin must not come into contact with water.
  • If desired, you can sand your epoxy resin and finish it with oil, wax, varnish, or a polyurethane resin.

  • OPTION B: The "PRO+" Premium Casting Resin Kit is designed for river tables and crystal clear pours up to 5 cm at around 20°C. For smaller silicone moulds for resin (e.g., 10 x 10 cm) and at 15°C, pours up to 30 cm can be achieved. This deep pour resin is ideal for creating resin tables, lamps, furniture, and other moulded decorative items. Perfect for medium-sized projects with shapes and volumes
  • OPTION C: The "PRO MAX" Premium Deep Pour Epoxy Resin is suitable for pours up to 10 cm at around 20°C. In smaller moulds for resin casting (e.g., 10 x 10 cm) and at 15°C, it allows pours up to 50 cm. Designed for large river tables, furniture, and large-volume decorative items. Ideal for projects with very high pours
  • SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS: Our Epoxy Resin meets the highest quality standards: crystal clear resin, bubble-free (self-venting), self-levelling, solvent-free, low-odour, BPA-free, VOC-free, UV-stabilised, chemical-resistant, phthalate-free, and easy to use
  • APPLICATION: Mix the resin (component A) with the hardener (component B) in a 2:1 weight ratio (e.g., 2 kg of resin to 1 kg of hardener). Optionally, add our EPODEX pigments for colouring. Pour immediately onto the surface to be covered and allow it to cure
