Description

2d De-La-Rue grey-green and carmine-red (OCP).
Fine mint, (two NH), marginal block of four, from plates H1/D3. The original coated paper variety was the first and short-lived trial by De-La-Rue in 1906, quickly replaced by the conventional thicker, chalk-surfaced paper. Immediately distinguishable from the chalky paper in that they appear white on the reverse, not cream, and because of the thin paper, the watermark is readily apparent. Hendon certificate accompanies.
