This meteorite is believed to come from the asteroid Vesta.
Its beautiful green color is characteristic, it’s a bit like “Superman’s kryptonite”.

Its fall was observed on June 27, 1931 around 1:30 a.m. by the population and a French garrison.
The next day, legionnaires found fragments which were transmitted to the National Museum of Natural History in Paris.
Analyzed and inventoried, these new meteorite fragments were forgotten until 1994.
It was thanks to the heightened curiosity of an enthusiast, Doctor of Sciences Alain Carion, that Tataouine was rediscovered.
