48" WOOD LATHE How-To Build PLANS Low Cost Wooden Bed

Plans to build a Wood Lathe. Built almost entirely from wood this is a low cost construction project. The headstock is a ball bearing mandrel and the tailstock is made from some brass tubing, threaded rod, and a few odds and ends. An old appliance motor supplies the power.
 

• The lathe has a faceplate capacity of 10" and the distance between centers is 48".
• White Maple bowling alley bed lumber was used (or other straight grained and rugged lumber).
• A few welds are needed to make the tool rest.
• Includes plans for a faceplate disc sanding table.
