Other:                      Crisp view of the Helden-Platz or Hero’s Square in Vienna with the equestrian statue of Archduke Charles erected in 1860.

 

Oscar Kramer was an early and longtime noted photographer of the Vienna region from 1858 until the late 19th Century.  It is noted in the February 23, 1883 issue of “The British Journal of Photography” that he received recognition for completing his 25th year as a photographer and photographic art dealer.  He made many views of Vienna and surrounds as well as notable portraits in all the available formats.  In addition, he presented his photographic findings in the journals of the day.
