This appears to be a vintage button clip earring made of amber-colored Bakelite, a type of early plastic. The front disc is crafted from Bakelite, popular in jewelry from the 1930s and 1940s. The specific shade is often described as "butterscotch" or "egg yolk" yellow. It features a metal clip-on mechanism on the reverse for wear without pierced ears.

I got it from family and was to told it was over 50 years old.   They show only minor wear.  The backs work well.
