■Condition■
This is a professional model that was Yamaha's top-of-the-line instrument in the late 1970s and is considered a Japanese vintage saxophone.
The instrument has been used by the first owner for many years, from concert band performances to jazz, and therefore shows considerable scratches, dents, and signs of oxidation due to age and use.
Before listing, the instrument was play-tested. It produces a good sound throughout the full range, from low to high notes, and the key operation has no major issues. The only minor point noticed is that the response of the low table keys feels slightly slow.
However, since it has not been played for approximately 5 years since it was last used as a backup instrument, professional maintenance is recommended. At minimum, a balance adjustment is advised, and ideally a full service including pad replacement would be recommended.
Included Accessories:
Yamaha case from another model (left lock is damaged, but the case is sturdy and suitable for long-term storage and shipping)
Otto Link popular metal mouthpiece (No. 7 opening)
Rovner ligature X
Two new Rico reeds (2.0 and 3.0)
Yanagisawa neck strap
