Hi This is my 1981 Mk3 Ford Capri 2.0GL 4 Speed. Ive owned this 8 years or so, on a budget. But more so just to enjoy it as is. And that is what i have done.  Originally when I got it running properly after i bought it, it would overheat, so it has had the following,
NEW RADIATOR, THERMOSTAT, WATER PUMP, PLUGS, LEADS, CONDENSOR, COIL, OIL, COOLANT, BRAKES, PIPES, CARB SEALS REPLACED, WILWOOD FRONT CALIPERS, New Capri Members Exhaust System from down pipe to rear. No unwanted engine noises or gearbox noises or whatever. Mechanically sound. As far as im aware and can tell, this is original, original engine, original gearbox and interior. No cracks in dash but 3-4 tiny screw holes as if a cb radio used to be there. Again, age rrlated marks and paint seterioration as you would imagine of a car thats not really been restored. New windscreen and seal. Have got some spare interior parts, Fan, mudflaps trims too to go with it.
Cosmetics is its downfall, maybe some new suspension but again nothing is broken.
EXTRAS Are, 2.8 rear spoiler, 4 spoke alloys instead of the original steels and a comedy horn, rear window Louvre. It has had some welding in the past and overall just wants some TLC but it goes around town and pops to the shops every now and then and does what a car does, without fail or faults or overheating. Its actually now really reliable although battery is getting a bit ropey as it gets put away over winter. 80 odd thousand miles and it definately hasnt been round the clock. A few years ago it did its 1st longest journey of 250 miles and didnt miss a beat. Ive had it a long time but this is as far as me and it goes. I love it to bits but in all honesty, she could do with some spring cleaning and love to bring her back to her former beauty, time which i just dont have. I just like jumping in and going for a good spin and she does put the smile back on your face. Not a lot of paperwork with it to be honest as i never recieved any when i bought it 8 years ago and 3 or 4 house moves later. However somewhere hidden is the the original letter from Ford that gave me the build date when i registered it as Historic vehicle etc. More photos updated. Feel free to ask for videos, wouldnt let me upload.  Logbook is present too Located Whitby YO21
