made in the 1930's at the ADO workshop at Sanatorium Berg en Bosch in Bilthoven (NL)
ADO is short for Arbeid Door Onvolwaardigen

7.5 x 8.0 x 10.0 cm.
with metal furniture maker's mark with two brass nails
screw in the bottom to close the box
red pencil-line at one side bottom of yellow bar (to align the screw holes)
Verzuu was strongly influenced by the De Stijl architect Gerrit Rietveld
and by the architects of the so-called The Hague School, like Hendrik Wouda
These original money boxes are extremely rare
there are two later editions: a 1956 or 1959 ed. and a 1999 jubilee ed.
(and nowadays it is still being reproduced as a 'design classic'...)
My box, however, is the ultra-rare original 1930's edition!
this box was in use until 1954: than it contained fl 18 on Feb. 3rd
