Fresh from Al-Clark-Japanese-Cloisonne in a Squarespace d*t c*m, a very fine and detailed silver wire antique Japanese Meiji cloisonné vase in 6-side hexagonal form This is a beautiful shape iwith a slender neck, flared out mouth, and broad shoulders tapering down to a narrow fflarred-out oot.
The design is expertly colored and depicts a garden scene. The scene is dominated by a large sakura cherry tree in Spring season colors growing with a maple tree in bright Fall colors, while below is a lush garden with many Spring season flowers. Flowers include Japanese iris and chrysanthemum. The background is a highly polished black or deep midnight blue. Note the treatment of each of the sakura flower petals with brown edges blending to whiten the centers. There are geometric borders at the mouth and foot.
The vase is 6" tall. Signed with the mark of an unknown artist, the mark resembling a male face. Excellent condition except for small surface bruise on the side/rrear and a couple of frits up on the neck (se close-up, behind the reflections. Stand not included. Ask all questions before bidding
