A charming retired Pocket Dragon “Squish” figurine, designed by Real Musgrave and dating from 1999 according to the supplied information, original underside label and visible impressed date mark.
The humorous composition depicts a pale green Pocket Dragon standing firmly upon a flattened squeezable tube. A length of pale paste emerges from the open end, while the dragon raises its arms and looks down at the result with wide glossy eyes. The exaggerated ears, softly shaded pink muzzle, rounded feet and small wings give the character the expressive modelling associated with Real Musgrave’s Pocket Dragons.
The tube is painted in warm beige and blue tones with red detailing, creating a colourful base for the upright figure. The combination of fantasy character design and an amusing everyday mishap gives “Squish” a particularly animated sculptural quality.
