Weil Ware was founded in Los Angeles in the 1930's as the California Figurine Company. After moving operations to Pasadena, the company changed its name to Weil of California. At one time it was one of the top six dinnerware producers in the state.  The company closed in 1955.

Weil was known for its practical ceramic dinnerware and serveware. Its mix and match pieces featured pastel shades with hand-painted flowers, bamboo, and mangos.

Weil Ware pieces are stamped with a logo that includes a burro, and the company adopted some Catalina Pottery molds, including Avalon Art Ware, Aurora Art Ware, Catalina Art Ware, and Floral Art Ware.
