Bataireacht

by Liang Wei Hao

This book provides a straightforward look at Irish stick fighting techniques and their modern applications. It breaks down the traditional methods used with shillelaghs and shows how these skills translate to contemporary self-defense situations using everyday objects. The writing focuses on practical instruction rather than theory, with clear explanations of strikes, blocks, and footwork developed through generations of real combat content moves from basic stances to advanced applications, including defenses against multiple attackers and adaptations for different environments. Historical context is included to explain the origins of techniques, but the emphasis remains on their current usefulness. Training methods are designed to build skills progressively, with an emphasis on developing natural movements that work under stress rather than memorized forms. The approach is grounded in reality, with techniques tested against resisting opponents to prove their effectiveness.
