Summary: This is the Advance Reading Copy of the debut novel from Kirstin Valdez Quade, award-winning short story writer. The novel is an expansion of Quade's short story of the same name previously  published in The New Yorker and then in her 2015 debut short story collection, Night at the Fiestas. The novel follows Amadeo Padilla, a struggling alcoholic living with his pregnant daughter and mother in New Mexico, where he is selected to play Jesus Christ in the town’s annual re-enactment of the Crucifixion. Condition:  VG. Very light wear to edges and corners of covers. There are a few creases on the spine and front cover and one superficial scratch on the front of the cover. The Spine is square, binding is tight. No markings inside.  Please review pictures as part of the description. I try to document the condition of my books faithfully while I am still learning to grade consistently. Put this author and her early works including this one on your short list for future collectibles!
