Superb Art Deco sterling silver table box, fully hallmarked for London 1937.
This is a stunning silver box made by Cartier in 1937.
The box is rectangular in shape with square corners and straight sides.
The lid, sides and underside of the box have superb reeded / linear decoration.
The lid of the box has a gold thumbpiece to the front.
The lid of the box is hinged.
The box is 4-3/4 inches / 120 mm wide, 3-1/8 inches / 79 mm deep and it stands 3/4 inches / 19 mm tall.
Made of thick gauge silver the box weighs an impressive 212 grams of sterling silver.
The box has clear hallmarks - lion passant, 925 mark, London mark, letter B for 1937 and maker's mark JC for Jacques Cartier.
The box is in excellent condition.
