What a fantastic photo! It is an original studio photograph with a man posing in a hunting pose, I suppose, holding a rifle. He has a pistol partially visible on his belt. I just love going over all the details in a crisp image like this. His corduroy jacket, his hat, a cross-body pouch...and those awesome leather hip boots! He's sort of squatting over some sort of hide - and maybe bones?? Super-cool.
The photo measures 4 1/8" X 5 3/4". It is mounted to a thin card backing, not as weighty as most cabinet cards, but thicker than paper. Thin cardboard. There is a strip of cloth on the right edge, like it was mounted into a book, perhaps?
The photographer was S. J. Dixon of Toronto, Ontario Canada. There is biographical information about him if you do an online search.
The photo was glued down a little poorly on the upper right side, resulting in some edge ripples. Plus other wear consistent with age/use.
I have a couple of other interesting antique photos listed so please take a look at them as well ~

I will gladly combine multiple purchases for a lower shipping cost. Please wait for an invoice from me before paying if you buy more than one item.
