 The drawknife was recently obtained from a wood tool collector’s estate sale, the exact age is unknown.

 This is an early folding drawknife, made by the Jennings & Griffin Co., that was in operation from 1885 – 1900, and then in 1901 the name was changed in to C.E. Jennings thru around early 1930’s, so this chisel should be from era 1885 thru 1900.

 The drawknife is stamped on the front edge Jennings & Griffin, and a #8, and PATENT APPLIED FOR.

 The draw knife has a 8” blade, and measures 1 7/16” width in the center and has a overall width from handle to handle ends of 16 1/2”.

  The draw knife is in great condition for the era,….one of the wing nuts was replaced and don’t match one another,….. the wood handles are solid but has a dings and dents, and some discoloration,…..…..…..As with the vintage of the knife, there is some normal ware, a few dings, some discoloration, as noted from the photos.
