This is a beautiful wool tapestry style wall hanging, or rug. Light grey with the geometric design in red, royal blue, black and white.

I don't have any written provenance but it came from a family in the south western part of the US who had it hanging on the wall for many years before returning to the UK. I believe it's likely they would have purchased it in the 1970's, quite possibly second hand at that point. 

I'm not in anyway an expert in native American craft, but this is a quality piece. 

there is some fading to the facing side as you can see but the reverse remains vibrant. No moth holes or stains at all. 

The hanging tape has only been loosely tacked on, so could easily be removed or replaced and the facing side changed to the unfaded one. The stretching you can see in the photos near the loops does not show when the piece is flat, so there is no damage.
