THE WORKS OF EDGAR ALLAN POE Volumes I & II

Publisher: Sweetwater Press

Copyright: 1835-1842

Format: Hardcover

Printing: Collector's Edition (2-volume set)

Summary: This is a lovely two volume collector's set of classic Edgar Allan Poe short stories. Includes The Murders in the Rue Morgue, The The Purloined Letter, The Fall of the House of Usher, The Pit and the Pendulum and many other classics , plus quite a few I hadn't read before. They are really nice looking books that would make a wonderful gift. Volume I has a blue and cream cover design with dark blue endpapers, Volume II has a red and tan cover design with deep maroon endpapers, both are styled to mimic the look of an antique leather quarter-binding but please note it is just faux, covers are a uniform glossy finish.

Condition:  Near Fine (Like New with minimal signs of handling). No dust jackets (none issued). Some light bumping over corners and Vol I has a some gray marbling behind the blue designs that I can't quite discern if it's part of the design or dust. Otherwise the boards are clean and solid. Spines are square, bindings fairly tight. Attractive deckled fore-edges. Inside text pages are clean and undamaged with no markings. The condition of the two books is pretty uniform adding to their quality as a set. This may originally have had a slip case but there is none present now. Please review pictures as part of the description. I try to document the condition of my books faithfully.

Shipping: I package all books carefully for shipping in a padded envelope or box, reinforced if needed. Media Mail is the default unless you choose otherwise.

Other Notes: I am always open to some friendly haggling. I'm happy to bundle shipping and offer a discount for combined purchases with other items from my shop, which I hope you will take a moment to browse! I'm also a fierce advocate of the right to read: check out my Resistance Through Reading campaign in my "Banned, Challenged, & Censored" shop category.

Thank you for supporting my little business!
