This is a used Custom Configuration model from the Bolt-On Series' CE 24 Semi-Hollow, which has an ebony fingerboard and a 57/08 pickup, which is different from the regular model.
Unlike the "Custom" model that represents PRS, the CE uses maple for the neck material and has a bolt-on joint structure. It is easy to be mistaken for a low-priced version of PRS because the production costs are lowered with cases, parts, etc., but the quality and production process are just as beautiful as higher-end models.
The body is a combination of a maple top with a slightly shallower arch than the Custom, and a classic mahogany back, and the mahogany back is hollow, leaving the neck end to the bridge.
Compared to the hollow body series that currently exists in the US core line, it has been designed with more solid parts, creating a wonderful finish that adds an airy feel while retaining a solid feel.
Compared to the Core Line hollow body series and the Custom 22 hollow body option that was available until 1998, the body pressure is set thinner (unlike the previous semi-hollow option, it is the same thickness as the regular Custom), resulting in a more solid sound.
The fingerboard has been changed from rosewood to ebony as a limited edition, and you can enjoy the excellent sound that is unique to ebony. The inlay is decorated with a bird inlay that can be said to be PRS's trademark, just like the regular model.
The pickup is "57/08".
This is a pickup produced by PRS, which obtained the exclusive right to use the machine that produced pickup wire in the 1950s.It is a pickup that is produced using the same wire material as at that time, and is particular about the coating. The magnet used for this pickup is also a special magnet internally called Alnico X. Although the power itself is not that powerful, it is a pickup with a very wide range, so it is a wonderful pickup that fully transmits the finest sound of wood materials to the amplifier.
