Hi,
This pot was made the Zenigo kiln, specifically Izumi-Ya. It’s got some nice age to it and overall a really great shape and size. The patina is starting to form nicely.
Please note any chips I point out in the pictures. If it’s specific major damage I’ll mention it below. Almost all older pots have some sort of slight wobble. If it’s significant beyond what’s considered normal, then I mention it. No cracks. Nice pot.
*its a nice old piece by zenigo, but if certainly has some issues. It has several firing issues that caused a split in the clay in several locations. It does go through the body but since it happened during firing, the ring is great. And I bet it’s for 40-50 years of use on it judging by the patina. It’s also got some sizable chips as well. Knowing all this, I greatly discounted the piece and the right person will enjoy and appreciate its character, which are flaws. One can easily see to the patina that has formed around these firing splits in the clay.
It would be $100 or more dollars on top of the buy it now price if it didn’t have these issues.
