2.7" Black Opal polished palm stone from Madagascar. This aesthetic stone is carved from natural Black Opal, a recent find from Madagascar. Opal is a variety of Quartz that lacks a crystal structure, formed when silica combines with water and fills in cracks within host rock. Unlike ordinary opals, Black Opal has carbon and iron oxide trace elements present, causing the unusual dark colors to the stone. This palm stone is hand polished for a smooth finish around the stone.
