Description
Here is a Historic Memphis TN Perel and Lowenstein Jewelers Estate Collection.
Included in this lot:
1950's era Perlow Swiss Made Cocktail Watch. Perlow was the store's private brand label and is visible on the watch face. Watch is not running.
1957 NBC Elgin Watch letter signed Perry Como, addressed to Mr. Perel. Letter was regarding Elgin's marketing push airing on Perry Como Christmas Show. Como's signature may be secretarial.
Copper metal Key Fob from Perel Jewelers. Fob was removed from original packaging for pictures. Age toning, verdigris, consequence of storage.
There is an Elvis Connection too! A young, pre-fame Elvis Presley worked as an usher in 1953 at the Loews Theatre. Barbara Hearn, a girl friend of Elvis, worked at Perel and Lowenstein hence Elvis was a regular and familiar visitor at the store in the early 1950's.
I am selling this historic item for the Perel family as they prepare for a move. Postcard image of the store with sign for Perel Lowenstein and Perlow Watches and Loew's Theatre is from 1957 and is for historical reference only and not included.
