How to touch up hair roots at home?
Step 1 If you only
need to color your roots, choose a shade that you usually use for uncolored
roots or a shade closest to your base color. If you choose a new shade, the
chart will help you predict the coloring result according to your natural hair
color.
Step 2 Carefully
read the instructions and follow them.
Step 3 Be sure to
carry out an allergy test 48 hours before coloring.
Step 4 Brush dry,
unwashed hair. Cover your shoulders with a towel to prevent the dye from getting
on them. Apply a rich cream to the skin of the face that comes into contact
with the hair – this will make it easier to remove the dye from the skin.
Step 5 Put on the
gloves included in the kit. In a non-metallic bowl, mix all the cream colorant
and the developer milk (you can mix half of the components).
Step 6 Start
applying to the roots. Move from the back of the head to the temples. Apply the
mixture evenly, leaving no gaps. Use non-metallic clips or hair ties to secure
the hair if needed.
Step 7 Make sure
the mixture is evenly distributed over all roots. Leave on for 15 minutes
(25 minutes if you have a lot of gray hair or if it is a lightening color).
Step 8 After leaving the mixture on the
roots for 15-25 minutes, quickly and evenly distribute the remaining mixture
along the entire length of the hair. This will help achieve a more uniform
color.
Step 9 Leave the dye for another 5-10
minutes. The total processing time should not exceed 35 minutes (30 minutes for
lightening dyes).
