Vintage Digital Character Meets Modern Creative Control

At its heart, the Ottobit X is a powerful degradation engine capable of transforming pristine audio into everything from subtle retro warmth to aggressively crushed digital textures. The highly musical bit reduction engine allows precise control over sample rate and resolution, delivering sounds inspired by early computers, vintage samplers and classic gaming hardware.

Combined with multiple preamp models, filters and modulation processors, the Ottobit X offers virtually endless possibilities for creating distinctive tones and experimental textures.

Expanded Glitch Processing

The all-new Glitch category dramatically expands the creative possibilities of the Ottobit platform. Grain Freeze captures and manipulates audio fragments with independent pitch control, while the updated stereo Stutter engine offers precise playback speed and subdivision adjustment.

Push Loop and Wikki Wikki provide expressive one-button looping effects, perfect for spontaneous performance manipulation, while Tape Stop delivers dramatic slow-down effects and Stutter Step introduces sequenced rhythmic stutter patterns with unique timing behaviours.

Powerful Pitch and Modulation Engines

The Ottobit X features five versatile pitch processing modes:

  • Poly Chroma
  • Otto Tune
  • Micro Tune
  • Mono Chroma
  • Lo-Fi

Otto Tune introduces integrated pitch correction for creative vocal-like effects and harmonically rich pitch manipulation.

The modulation section includes:

  • Ring Mod
  • Div Trem
  • Tape Mod
  • Freq Shift
  • Otto Vibe

From subtle movement and vintage tremolo to metallic frequency shifting and lush phase-style textures, the modulation engines add depth and character to any sound source.

Lo-Fi Ambience and Stereo Processing

Designed for immersive stereo operation, the Ottobit X introduces two new ambience algorithms tailored specifically for degraded and nostalgic soundscapes:

  • VHS Delay
  • VHS Reverb

These effects capture the character of ageing tape machines and vintage media formats, adding atmosphere, depth and cinematic texture to your sound.

Deep Control and Professional Connectivity

Whether integrated into a guitar rig, modular setup, synthesiser system or studio environment, the Ottobit X provides comprehensive control options. MIDI implementation supports preset management, MIDI CC control and beat clock synchronisation, while the dedicated expression pedal input allows simultaneous control of multiple parameters for highly expressive performance.

The advanced ARM processor, premium analogue front end and high-resolution DSP platform ensure exceptional audio quality and responsive operation throughout.
