Description
Bruno Munari Xerografia Xerox 914 Copy Art Artist Book Saint-Martin Bookshop
This book compiles Bruno Munari's xerographic experiments using the Xerox 914, conducted from around 1963, and was originally produced for his participation in the 1970 Venice Biennale. Munari explored imaging techniques by moving objects on the copier glass, visualizing motion and blur. A key figure from Italian Futurism, his post-war work spanned graphic design, product design, education, and art book creation. This volume consistently treats the copier as an "image-generating tool," connecting to McLuhan's media theory and 1960s-70s artist book/copy art movements. This reissue accompanies an exhibition held at the Saint-Martin Bookshop in Brussels in April 2026 and includes a 4-page booklet with text by artist Gabriella Zalapì (translated into Japanese). A 1969 quote from Munari, discussing art for everyone and the potential of Rank Xerox machines for artistic expression, is also featured.
