This is an artist's book by Canadian artist and curator Micah Lexier. It serves as a follow-up to his 2022 work, 'AUTOBIOGRAPHY N.8', which was contributed to a series by Italian publisher TONINI EDITORE. Both books share similar dimensions, page counts, and a sensory direction. While 'AUTOBIOGRAPHY' was empty, 'I AM BORN' is filled. Furthermore, 'AUTOBIOGRAPHY' centered on the book itself, whereas 'I AM BORN' focuses on the artist creating the book. Both volumes concentrate on a single element: the colophon in 'AUTOBIOGRAPHY' and the artist's birth year in 'I AM BORN'. The entire book is printed with gray numbers, starting with "1" on the top left of the front cover and concluding with "11,520" on the bottom right of the back cover. The artist's birth year, "1960", is the only element printed in black, receiving unique emphasis within the book. This work serves as an homage to artists who have created works using numerical grids, specifically referencing Stanley Brouwn's "1 step–100000 steps" (1972, Art & Project Publications). It also extends its references to non-art materials, such as 'A Million Random Digits with 100,000 Normal Deviates' (1955) published by the American think tank RAND Corporation. This is a new, softcover copy, part of a limited edition of 100 copies.
