Developed during the 1950s under the direction of Ted McCarty, the stop tailpiece became a key part of Gibson®’s bridge and tailpiece design for Les Paul® models. Early versions were produced from lightweight aluminium before later production shifted toward heavier zinc-based designs. Combined with the ABR-1 Tune-o-matic bridge, the setup became closely associated with many classic Gibson® electric guitar models. This set includes an aged USA-made Kluson® aluminium tailpiece with matching steel studs, capturing the traditional look and construction associated with early Les Paul® hardware.
