About Importer's Obligation
As of August 29, 2025, the U.S. will abolish the “de minimis rule” (Section 321), which allowed duty-free entry for shipments valued at $800 or less.
From that date on, even low-value goods—even those under $800—will be subject to standard customs duties and taxes.
