Geprägt aus einer Unze 99,99% reinem Silber in Polierter Platte und vollständig veredelt mit 24-Karat-Gold, würdigt diese Ausgabe eines der bekanntesten und traditionsreichsten Münzprogramme Australiens. Das Motiv zeigt den legendären Welcome Stranger, den größten jemals gefundenen und dokumentierten Goldnugget. Er wurde im Februar 1869 in Moliagul im australischen Bundesstaat Victoria von John Deason und Richard Oates entdeckt. Mit einem Gewicht von 2.284 Unzen war der Nugget so groß, dass er vor dem Wiegen in mehrere Teile zerlegt werden musste. Umgeben wird das zentrale Motiv von einer stilisierten Sonnendarstellung, durchbrochen von einer Linienzeichnung der Landkarte Australiens. In das Design integriert sind zudem der Name des Nuggets, das Münzzeichen „P40“, das Gewicht, die Feinheit und das Ausgabejahr. Die Rückseite der Münze zeigt das Porträt von König Charles III., gestaltet von Dan Thorne, sowie die Umschrift „AUSTRALIA“ und den Nennwert. Die veredelte Silbermünze zum 40. Jubiläum des Australian Nugget ist weltweit auf 2.000 Exemplare limitiert und wird in einer illustrierten Blisterkarte mit dem ANDA-Logo geliefert.

This gil-ded silver coin was issued by the renowned Perth Mint on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Australian Nugget program and at the same time represents a special release for the ANDA coin show in Hobart 2026. Struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver in proof quality and fully gilded with 24-carat gold, this issue honors one of the most famous and long-standing coin programs of Australia. The motive depicts the legendary Welcome Stranger, the largest gold nugget ever found and documented. It was discovered in February 1869 in Moliagul in the Australian state of Victoria by John Deason and Richard Oates. With a weight of 2,284 ounces, the nugget was so large that it had to be broken into several pieces before weighing. The central motive is surrounded by a stylized depiction of the sun, intersected by a line drawing of the map of Australia. Also integrated into the design are the name of the nugget, the mintmark “P40”, the weight, the fineness, and the year of issue. The reverse of the coin features the portrait of King Charles III, designed by Dan Thorne, as well as the inscription “AUSTRALIA” and the denomination. The gil-ded silver coin for the 40th anniversary of the Australian Nugget is limited to 2,000 pieces worldwide and is delivered in an illustrated blistercard featuring the ANDA logo.
