The book measures
7/75 inches x 5.5 inches and has 266 pages + 24 colour plates.
The book is in
good, neat condition for its age, with minor wear and is a little
grubby/blemished to the original decorative cloth hardback cover. The binding is good with no loose or missing
pages (lining papers cracked at the hinges inside the boards) and no missing
plates (the plate facing page 8 had come loose but has an old fixing – looks tacked
in with something similar to a postage stamp).
There are previous owner 1879 and 1919 inscriptions at the front, a
blind embossed private owner’s stamp, a little foxing near the covers and no other
ink or pencil markings in the book.
A wonderfully
illustrated VICTORIAN edition.
COMBINED POSTAGE - ALL BIDDERS: We offer 20% off the total
