1983 Mercedes-Benz 200 Petrol Automatic W123 – Historic Vehicle – Tax & MOT ExemptRestoration Project

1983 Mercedes W123 200 Automatic finished in grey with original black cloth interior.

142,000 miles. UK RHD car. Historic vehicle status, therefore tax and MOT exempt. Was used up until summer 2022 then stored.

The car starts, runs and drives. Engine, gearbox, lights, gauges, heater and electrics are all working as they should. It has recently had a new battery and new front springs fitted.

The interior is in good original condition and complete, although it would benefit from a thorough clean after being stored. Dash, seats and trim are all presentable and make a good basis for restoration.

This is a genuine restoration project and the bodywork requires attention. Front wings need replacing, there is corrosion to the rear arches/rear wing areas, and welding is required. There is also rust below both the front and rear window surrounds which will need attention. The tyres will need replacing before regular road use.

The car is complete, running and driving, making it an ideal project for a Mercedes enthusiast. W123 values continue to remain strong and good original UK cars are becoming increasingly difficult to find. This is a particularly good colour combination and has a sunroof. The car is dry inside.

Sold as a restoration project and will need to be transported.
