Firefly glass, a popular souvenir from Okinawa, is a glass bead with a hole, made using a shaping technique called burner work, similar to lampwork beads.

Each piece is crafted by artisans who melt colored glass, roll it around an iron core, and then layer silver leaf onto the molten glass, creating beautiful colors using a special technique.
