Manufactured between 1900 and 1930 in Germany
The condition is very good and good. Some stencils are a bit tarnished,

The antique and old monogram stencils were used for embroidering laundry items back then.
In the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century it was normal for every woman's linen - called trousseau, table linen, bed linen, towels, nightwear - to be embroidered with her initials.
Young girls and women used a small brush to transfer the laundry ink onto an item of laundry. The ink was previously mixed with powder and water.
The stencils served as a template to put the letters on
Painting a textile piece. Afterwards, towels, bed sheets, pillowcases, duvet covers, tablecloths, napkins, handkerchiefs, etc. were embroidered with the initials in painstaking work.
The so-called whitewashing should, if possible, last for the entire life of the person
  married couple are sufficient.
Also ideal as personal gifts for weddings, birthdays, baptisms, confirmations, Christmas. Monogram stencils are very personal gifts.
