Album description:
With their debut album “The Heart Remains at Home”, KINGSMASH deliver a powerful mix of melodic power-rock and metal that is both catchy and rousing. The songs combine fat guitar- riffs, expressive melodies and emotional intensity - a perfect balance between heaviness and feeling. Fans of melodic hooks and powerful metal elements will definitely get their money's worth here. With the album “The Heart Remains at Home”, KINGSMASH present the more than worthy and longed-for successor to their first EP “Black Forest Power Rock”, which was released a year ago in February 2025. With their debut album, KINGSMASH prove once again that the expression “Black Forest Power Rock” is not just their band slogan, but a promise!
Band-Biography:
Powerful, energetic and catchy - these are the words that best describe the sound of KINGSMASH. The quartet combines powerful guitar riffs with a pounding bass and dynamic drums. Carried by melodic vocal lines and anthemic choruses, a rousing sound unfolds which delights both classic-rock-fans and metalheads. Although KINGSMASH has only been active under this name since the end of 2023, the four musicians each bring decades of experience from various bands and numerous live performances. This extensive know-how is reflected in her powerful songwriting and their confident performance.

The KINGSMASH story
It all began at the end of 2021. For almost two years, COVID-19 had kept the world in suspense, with lockdowns and contact restrictions sadly becoming the norm. So it was actually the “ideal” time to set up a home recording studio in the basement...no sooner said than done.
With lots of song ideas in his head, a home recording studio in his basement, and minimal know-how, Michael finally set about recording the first demos of his own songs. Originally intended as a one-man project, the first demo recordings were released on YouTube shortly afterwards under the pseudonym “MIKE AL HAIR.” Soon, a small (well, rather very small) but loyal following had gathered on the YouTube channel. It could have continued like that...
Actually. But anyone who has ever stood on stage will quickly find their basement at home too small. And so Michael's desire to play in a band again grew. One thing was certain for him, though. He didn't want to be in a cover band anymore; he wanted to play his own songs live.
So from then on, he kept his eyes and ears open for musicians to form a band. Fortunately, he was able to fill the position of drummer with his ideal candidate. Severin was not only an excellent drummer, but also a long-time friend who was enthusiastic about the new band project. The two musicians had already played together in numerous previous bands. Vocals/guitar and drums. That was a good start! Since there isn't exactly an abundance of available rock musicians or rehearsal rooms in the small Black Forest village where they both live, the search for additional musicians and a suitable rehearsal room proved to be difficult and time-consuming. So they were all the more delighted when Severin reported that he might have found a rehearsal room and that the landlord even knew a bassist...
The rehearsal room. A dream for any rock band. No heating, no sanitary facilities, and yet still a dream. But didn't the landlord say he knew a bassist? And he certainly did. ATZE! His real name was Axel, but everyone called him Atze.
An eternally young bon vivant and an absolute happy-go-lucky guy. He liked the demo songs they played him right away. So they spruced up the rehearsal room and a little later got together as a trio for their first rehearsals. The chemistry was right from the start, and Atze fit in with Severin and Michael like a glove. So, from the end of 2023, they held their first rehearsals as a trio. At the same time, however, they searched all conceivable portals for another guitarist.
At that very moment, Ralf was in the process of moving from Heilbronn, over 200 kilometers away, to the Black Forest. Naturally, the passionate musician wanted to join a band in his new home, and so contact was quickly established. He also liked the demo recordings of their own songs, and they agreed on a date to meet and rehearse. In January 2024, the time had finally come. A well-prepared and experienced Ralf joined Atze, Severin, and Michael, who had already been rehearsing as a trio for about three months. Ralf played the songs as if he had been there from the beginning. It just fit! In addition to his excellent guitar skills, Ralf also brought decades of band and stage experience to the table. The calm and thoughtful Ralf was the crucial component that the young band had been missing. From an illustrious pool of more or less serious name suggestions, they finally agreed on the band name KINGSMASH.
Let's rock and roll!
