Antique French Carriage Clock Alarm Strike Bell Brass / Glass | Restoration Project
The clock is currently not running. When attempting to wind the mainspring for the time mechanism, it turns freely and does not build tension. This suggests an issue within the movement, likely requiring a service or repair.
The alarm function is working, and when activated the clock strikes as it should.
The enamel dial is in relatively good condition for its age, with a small hairline crack running from the centre towards the upper edge, along with a few additional minor marks and cracks.
The right-hand glass panel has internal cracks to the top and bottom corners. These are internal only and remain smooth to the touch on the outside.
Overall, the brass case is in nice condition, showing general age-related wear, marks, and light tarnishing. It would benefit from a clean and polish to bring it back to its best.
