Description:

One vintage or antique carved bamboo crab. This crab is not carved in one piece, instead it is carved into 21 pieces(one piece for body, 2 pieces for each leg), then jointed together, and glued down. Each joint is sort of a mortise and tendon structure. I think the origin of the crab is likely Chinese, however, It is possible this crab could have been Japanese as well, since artists in both countries have carved crabs with bamboo in similar appearance.
