Uniquely told from the perspective of Vivienne Michel, a young woman alone in an Adirondack motel when two armed criminals force their way in - and a stranger named James Bond arrives out of the dark. Fleming was so dissatisfied with this novel that he attempted to suppress future reprints, making early paperback copies genuine artifacts of Bond publishing history.

Condition: Good. Cover retains good color and artwork with minor chipping and creasing along spine edge. Faint circular stain (ring mark) visible on front cover. Back cover has surface dirt and smudging with faint thumbprints visible; small flake loss over text on back cover. Colored red page edges as issued. Interior clean with age-consistent tanning.
