Up for sale is a Used Mid 70’s Slingerland 4 piece Black Diamond Drum Set
Used as is condition.
Set includes:
9” x 13” Mount Tom
10” x 14” Mount Tom
16” x 16” Floor Tom with chrome tom legs
14” x 22” Bass Drum with Set-O-Matic tom mount and chrome telescopic spurs
The finish on this set is in very good condition for its age.
Each tom features the original mount hardware and internal tone controls. Some of the tension rods are mis-matched, mostly on the bass drum, and one of the spur mounts has been re-tapped to fit a different thumb screw. Two of the bass drum lugs have been refitted with different mounting hardware.
Drums are 3 ply.
The heads on the toms are used Remo Ebony Pinstripe on top and Remo Ambassador Batter on the bottom. The bass has demo import clear 22” heads.
Listing update: Upon further inspection of the drums there is a manufacturer error/defect from when these were produced. There is a vent guard on the inside of each drum where the badge is...when the factory drilled these vent guards, the screws poked thru some. The drum where it looks like a hole under the badge (photo #13), that is where the screw actually penetrated...all other drums/spots the screw poked out but not all the way thru. I took some photos but unfortunately I am maxed on my photo limit so I can not add anymore.
**Per another ebayer, they have never seen a vent guard installed over the vent holes on a Slingerland Drum. He believes this was something that was completed at a later time. We can not confirm one way or another if the vent guard was installed at the factory or by someone after purchase.**
