The dispersal of a notable collection of American silver, 20 years in the making. Most of the pieces came from the "Golden Age" of the style, the 19th and early 20th centuries. There is much Gorham Martele and other Art Nouveau period, and Tiffany Aesthetic and Japonisim-style, silver. Victor Niederhoffer, a successful commodities speculator when not collecting silver, took a tumble on the Thai markets in 1997, forcing him to liquidate this collection.
