this antique etui sewing set is in great condition for its 100+ year old age. Case glows under UV light, not plastic, not resin. Each piece is ornately designed on both front and back. Most sewing sets like these are dated around 1890.
The scissors show signs of aging, gilt loss and patina throughout, small hole in one neck of a handle. The needle case has extra embroidery needles & opens smoothly. The thimble has some illegible hallmark/metal coding. The case has slight yellowing in a few spots due to aging & a couple discolored hairline fractures. These disclaimers do not hinder the functionality of the case. Working hinge and clasp. Missing one tool.
Measures 4 1/4" x 2"

The needle case has an “800” mark on its neck symbolizing its 800/1000 silver purity. Sets like these are usually gilded in 18k gold.

These are antique metal pieces so you are to expect any age-related disclaimers that come with old metal pieces; patina, rust, pitting.
Tools should be restored and prepped if you desire to make use of them for personal projects. This set is sold as display purposes only—tools have not been tested.
