CHICAGO,ILL. / U.S.A. emb on side panels ..Hand blown in mold...hand tooled double ring collar....aqua....rect....6 1/8"tall.....Excellent condition with no chips or damage. A dug bottle with some light haze... J.A.Hamlin & Brother began marketing their famous "Wizard Oil" in Cincinnati in the 1850s. They soon moved to Chicago, Illinois where they developed one of the most successful patent medicine businesses in the country. The Hamlin Brothers used travelling medicine shows to promote the Wizard Oil all over the country. Wizard Oil was basically a "cure all" which claimed to cure virtually every disease known to man...and then some!...I just recently dug this bottle from an 1890s outhouse privy pit....look up "Digger Dave & Shovelin Shelley Beeler" on YouTube....
