How to Replace a CV Axle: 

• Find a safe place.
• Remove the axle nuts and hubcaps of the vehicle. Jack the car up, remove the wheel that needs to be replaced with the cv axle, straighten the cotter pin with pliers, and it can be pulled out.
• Remove brake calipers and hub. Loosen the bolts holding the outer tie rod to the steering knuckle and remove the bolts holding the hub to the pillar tower.
• Remove and replace the CV axle. Pry down the CV joint. Use a small pry bar or sturdy flat head screwdriver to pry the axle from the joint. Replace faulty axles, axle nuts, wheels, and twist all fasteners and wheels to factory specifications.
• Perform a road test.
