Description

“Outdoor Rumpus Room”. Plans to build a Slat House. A Slat House provides shade for tender (or young) plants in the summer heat.  The roof and walls are covered with laths or slats, spaced with gaps as wide as the slats themselves, providing approximately 50% shade.
 
  • The timber frame is built from 2"x4" and 4” x 4” rough stock.
  • Details are given for a 12’x18' house - the same methods could be used to build other sizes.
