Complete 4-volume set of Carl Sandburg’s Pulitzer Prize-winning masterwork, published by Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1939. Rescued from a very old farmhouse in PA.
CONDITION – These are well-worn reading copies. The dark navy/black cloth covers show significant scuffing throughout. Inner hinges are cracking and pages should be turned with care. Pages show heavy foxing (age spots) and brown staining along the edges, consistent with decades of shelf storage. Some water staining visible on page edges. All four volumes are complete with no missing pages.
This set is priced to reflect its condition. It is for the reader who wants to experience one of the great works of American biography and doesn’t mind a well-loved set. And they still look cool on a bookshelf, too!
Yes, it’s a hefty package. Think of the shipping as part of the cost : )
Please review pictures carefully as part of the description. I strive to document condition faithfully.
