Japanese Tomoe River, thread-stitched notebooks are produced by SANZEN, the successor to the original Tomoe River FP paper by Tomoegawa. This 64-page notebook features the same great qualities as the original fine papers produced by Tomoegawa. Tomoe River paper, a favorite among those who love to write and are particular about the quality, is renowned for being incredibly thin and for its velvety smooth texture that performs amazingly well with fountain pens and ink pens. This handy size notebook contains premium, artist-grade thin papers manufactured and treated for the perfect surface for fountain pens to glide across smoothly and elegantly leaving you with exceptionally crisp lines. It is super lightweight, at 52gsm - nearly half the thickness of copy paper. Despite its thinness, Tomoe River high quality paper is resistant to bleeding through and feathering so it can handle a variety of inks and pen nibs. Specially coated on both sides, so ghosting is minimal. This silky smooth, fountain-pen-friendly writing paper gives you precise ink strokes, beautiful ink shades and crisp lines, so it’s perfect for calligraphy practice, letter writing, etc. Tomoe River journal notebook has 32 papers thread-bound together in a simple brown cover. This binding system is also known as singer sewn binding, which is the traditional elegant method of bookbinding where a single thread is stitched through folded pages at the spine. With no glues or staples, this secure binding method allows for the notebook to open flat. Simple thread stitched binding gives both the classic and modern look at the same time.
