Magnificent
debut album by Alan Reed

After his largely acoustic CD-EP “Dancing with Ghosts“
the former Pallas singer Alan Reed came up with a magnificent album in full
length in 2012. On this work he presents himself as an excellent songwriter,
vocalist and instrumentalist (guitars, bass, synthesizer, percussions).
Furthers musicians on this CD are Mike Stobbie (ex-Pallas) on keyboards, Scott
Higham (Pendragon) on drums and percussions, Jeff Green on lead guitar on
tracks 2 und 5, Kalle Wallner (RPWL) with a stunning guitar solo on track 3 and
Christina Booth (Magenta) with additional vocals.
The album was produced very well by Alan Reed and Mike Stobbie. The convincing
sound quality was also not least achieved by Karl Groom (Shadowland/Threshold)
with the final mix in the Thin Ice Studios.
“First in a Field of One“ offers strong, melodic and diversified progressive rock with much emotionality and sensitiveness and versatile instrumentation. Depending on the track there are impressive songs with folky elements and Scottish sounds, songs with neo-progressive parts à la Pallas and sensitive ballads.
The CD is edited in digipack format with a nice,

Nach seiner

Pallas-Sänger Alan Reed 2012 mit einem hervorragenden Album in voller Länge
auf. Darauf präsentiert er sich als exzellenter Songwriter, Sänger und
Instrumentalist (Gitarren, Bass, Synthesizer, Percussions). Mit von der Partie
sind Mike Stobbie (ex-Pallas) an den Keyboards, Scott Higham (Pendragon) am
Schlagzeug und an den Percussions, Jeff Green an der Lead-Gitarre auf den
Tracks 2 und 5, Kalle Wallner (RPWL) mit einem tollen Gitarrensolo auf Track 3
sowie Christina Booth (Magenta) mit zusätzlichem Gesang.
Das Album wurde von Alan Reed zusammen mit Mike Stobbie sehr gut produziert.
Zur überzeugenden Soundqualität hat auch Karl Groom (Shadowland/Threshold) mit
dem finalen Mix in den Thin Ice Studios beigetragen.
“First in a Field of One“ bietet starken, melodischen und abwechslungsreichen progressiven Rock mit viel Emotionalität und Feinfühligkeit und vielseitiger Instrumentierung. Je nach Track enthält dieses Album stimmungsvolle Songs mit folkigen Elementen und schottischem Einschlag, Songs mit neo-progressiven Anteilen à la Pallas und einfühlsame Balladen.
Die CD ist im
