Mark Lancaster was born in Yorkshire [Holmfirth], and studied under Richard Hamilton in Newcastle. 
He spent most of his career in the US, particularly New York.
He exhibited alongside Andy Warhol and Jasper Johns and featured in most of Andy Warhol's films.
The Redfern Gallery, London, held a one-man exhibition of his paintings in April-June 2023.
An important Pop artist and abstract painter.
